Rich, creamy, what more can you want! You can enjoy this Chicken with Mushroom Cream Sauce for a cozy dinner at home and it will sure be loved by all! It's one I have been making for years and will continue to do so as I simply have huge cravings for it if I go too long without it.
This recipe is also absolutely delicious with pork if you prefer it as a choice of meat, and perfect served alongside some mashed potatoes or polenta to scoop up the glorious sauce. Don't forget your greens too to accompany it and there you have a great balanced meal!
Chicken With Mushroom Cream Sauce

Ingredients
- 1 lb Chicken Breast
- 3/4 cup White Wine
- 2 Onions
- 1 tablespoon cream cheese (garlic flavored preferred)
- 2 tablespoons Crème Fraîche
- 1 jar of small button Mushrooms in oil (drained) or 8 oz Fresh Mushrooms (cooked)
- 1 Garlic Clove
Instructions
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onions and cook until translucent.
- Add chicken breast pieces to the skillet and cook until lightly browned on both sides.
- Stir in sliced mushrooms, minced garlic, and pour in the white wine. Simmer very gently until the wine has evaporated, about 30 minutes.
- Add cream cheese and crème fraîche to the skillet. Stir until melted and combined, being careful not to boil the sauce.
- If not serving immediately, transfer the chicken and sauce to a baking dish. Heat in the oven until warmed through.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
