Ingredients for Orange Cocoa:
- Coffee or espresso (optional, but you'll need this if you want to turn this into an Orange Mocha
- Steamed whole milk
- Milk or Dark Chocolate Chips or Chocolate Bar
- Cocoa Powder
- Orange Syrup to make this orange extract hot chocolate
- Honey or sugar (I recommend using honey as this chocolate recipes is very sweet)
- Chocolate Shavings or chopped chocolate
- Fresh Orange Zest

Step 1: In a medium saucepan, whisk together the heavy cream or whole milk, chocolate, and cocoa powder. Add the orange syrup or extract and honey and continue to whisk together. You can also make this chocolate recipe in the slow cooker or instant pot.
Step 2: Simmer on low heat on the stovetop and contiue to whisk for 5-minutes until the hot chocolate starts to thicken. Keep stirring to help thicken the hot chocolate. Do not let the milk curdle or boil.
Step 3: Stir and remove from heat.
Step 4: Top with homemade whipped cream, fresh orange zest, and chocolate shavings.
You can use almond milk or soy milk instead of whole milk for hot chocolate almond milk. You can also make orange chocolate drink lemon hot chocolate by using lemon juice instead of fresh orange juice.

- 1/4 cup Guittard's Chocolate Cocoa Powder or Cacao Powder
- 3 tablespoon Orange Syrup or Orange Extract
- 4 tablespoon Honey (add more for additonal sweetness)
- Fresh Orange Zest
- Coffee or Espresso if making this a Valencia Mocha
