Time for a fun Friday night dinner!
Edible tacos bowls, with refried beans!
I LOVE making these taco bowls, and you can play around with your fillings. But this was a simple meat free, cheap and quick version! And the bowls are super easy to make!
Im going to talk you through how to make the taco bowls and refried beans! Refied beans are delicious and full of plant based protein! Keeping you full for longer.
I also filled my bowls with some fresh salad leafs, corn, fresh avocado some sautéed peppers and some sour cream and hot sauce.
Other things you can add to your bowls
- guacamole
- chilli con carne
- veggie chilli
- crispy cauliflower
- sautéed sweet potatoes
- sour cream
- cheese
The options are unlimited!

Ingredients
refried beans
- 1 tin of black beans
- 1 onion
- 2 big cloves of garlic
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp thyme
- 1 stock cube
- salt and pepper to season

Instructions
For the edible taco bowls
- Preheat oven to 180c.
- Then place a mug upside down on the shelf and lay your wrap over the mug so it hangs down creating a cup shape.
- Bake for 5 mins.
- Then remove the mug and bake for another 5
- Leave to set and cool until serving
for the refried beans
- Finely chop an onion and soften in a deep frying pan.
- Now repeat with 3 cloves of garlic.
- Drain a can of black beans and add to the pan. Add in a 1/3 tin of water, tsp thyme, tsp cumin, a veggie stock cube, some salt and pepper and let it simmer for approx 15 mins.
- Stir regularly. (Add a little more water when it dries out and repeat for 15 mins)
- Use a masher smash your beans. Now let them fry for approx 5 mins turning them a few times to crisp on all sides.
