Healthier Potato Chip Alternative

I'll be the first to admit that I love potato chips and the where I live, you can get the best potato chips in the world. These chips; however, are fried in lard. (I think that’s what makes them so good.)
You and I both know that this is not a ‘heart healthy’ snack and I only eat them occasionally. But when that crunchy munchy feeling hits me, here is an alternative to those chips that’s simple to make and a lot healthier than chips.
Healthier Potato Chip Alternative

Ingredients
- 16 oz can of chickpeas/garbanzo beans
- 1 teaspoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Heat oven to 450 degrees
- Drain and rinse chickpeas
- Pour chickpeas onto a paper towel
- Place another paper towel on top of the chickpeas and rub them dry
- Remove the top paper towel and carefully remove the shells by rubbing the chickpeas
- Once the shells are removed, place the chickpeas onto a clean paper towel and dry well
- Place dried chickpeas into a bowl
- Mix spices together
- Pour olive oil into the chickpeas and mix to coat
- Pour spices over chickpeas and mix to coat
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper
- Pour chickpeas onto the baking sheet
- Bake 20-25 minutes until chickpeas are crisp
Tips
- You could experiment with other combinations of spices to give a sweet or spicier flavor
